Funny Cat

This morning I got to work and as usual Brooklyn, the cat, greeted me at the door. I go back to the office (I work in the owner's home) and she's at the window waiting for me to open the blinds. Of course I am too slow at getting them open as she's trying to get her head in between the slats. She sits on the window sill looking at the outside world. She'll sit there till someone wakes up. (I get there at 7 AM and the women are still sleeping). Anyway, I had to go to the back office (located in the garage) and when I came out of there, Brooklyn was sitting on the chair waiting for me. Then she jumps off and runs to the other chair and 'hides' between the chair and wall. I saw her run there and was very surprised that she jumped up at me as I walked by. She's never done that before and I had to laugh at her because she missed me. Maybe she was going to attack my shoe or something. She uses my shoes as her 'scratching' post. I just tell her to watch the foot and toes. One day she's going to dig in deep. I wished there was a video camera to catch that. She is a funny cat.

A Funny Thing Happened On the Way Into the Store

Sometime last week I stopped at Albertson's on my way home from work. As I was walking up to the door, out came this shopping cart and first thing I spotted was a case of beer. As I walked closer I was wondering what this person was going to do. Drink it all by himself? Invite friends over? Is he going to drive after drinking? Then someone said "Hi" and I looked at the person pushing the cart and it was someone from church!!! I didn't say Hi back because in my mind a bunch of things were going through my head. Something like "what's Gary doing buying beer?" "are you sure that's beer in the cart?". A few seconds later I said "hi" but I don't think he heard me because he was at his car and I was entering the store. I started to laugh because I put the picture together and figured it was diet sodas that he had in the cart. I had to call his wife and give her a hard time. We were still on the phone when he got home. He said he's kind of embarrassed now because there were a few other people from church in the store when he was there! A few other people know of the 'incident' and I hear talk about that. You know, something like 'yeah, drinking diet soda, uh huh.' 'we know what you really drink.'

Brooklyn

I'm on a roll!!! I thought I'd share some pictures of Brooklyn the cat!!! She greets me at the door every morning when I get to work. She runs to the office and waits for me to open the blinds so she can see what's going on in the world. She loves to look out at whatever she can see. I think there were some leaves stuck on the tree by the window and she sits there staring up at it. Sometimes these birds know she's there and they on purposely come to the window to see what she'll do. Back when the leaves were falling from the tree you couldn't get her away from the window for anything! Well, if she heard that someone was eating in the kitchen she'd go check it out!

Teenagers......................

I uploaded some pictures I had on my camera. This is my niece Juella. She's been wanting me to teach her to drive. She has a hard time driving my car as it's with a stick shift. We go over to the Hoffmantown church parking lot and practice driving. We end up laughing a lot more than driving. She lets the car die out, she skids out as she takes off. Once she gets it going she wants to speed!!!! Once we were driving in the back of the church and there was this rabbit sitting there in the way. She thought it was just something like a tumbleweed and sure put the brakes on as she saw it move. We must have sat there for 5 minutes laughing about it. One day she wanted to drive my car down the street where my parents live. I told her it was ok but she had to back out of the driveway. She's like "Huh? You want me to do what?????" I walked her through it and she actually made it out of the driveway but couldn't get it to go forward. A car was coming down the street so she jumped out of the car and ran!! I had to jump in and move out of the way. Then I told her to get back in and drive down to the stop sign. It's like two tenths of a mile. She did ok, didn't jerk the car like before. I told her practice makes perfect!

Happy New Year

I haven't been around lately. I guess I've been pretty busy with other things that I didn't get a chance to post anything the past couple of months or so. I carry my camera around with me just about everyday so that I can capture some things that are unusual. I missed a few that I didn't have the camera. Like one day I was driving home from work and in the sky were these clouds that looked like Santa and his reindeer! I realized then that I didn't have the camera! Another one was a flying saucer!! You know that Roswell, NM isn't far from here! Who knows, that might have come from there!
We've had snow in the mountains but none here in the city. I guess some people were wondering if we were going to get some more snow like we did last year. But I know it's not going to happen for at least ten more years!! I think we're back into that one snowfall a year and it'll come at the end of January or the first part of February.
I included a picture of the Sandia mountains!
