Me and the Rain

Back on August 5th, my niece and I had to return some books we checked out at the library. We had gone to the Library in July to use the computers but were shocked to see they didn't have any computers!!! (This was at the Cherry Hills library). Found out that they were adding new computers and it would be about a month or so before they were back up. So we had to go to the Wyoming branch to use the computer. My computer at home had broken down and I had instructions on how to fix my computer but had to print it out. So we had checked out books and returned them on the 5th. After we left the books there we were both thinking the same thing........"I'm hungry." So we thought we'd go get something to eat. That's the hard part, deciding what we both want. So as we were driving down the road my mom called and asked if we could drop by and take her to the grocery store. Sure we can. It had started to rain as we were driving down San Antonio. I thought it would stop by the time we get to her house. So here I am on interstate 25 and the traffic is going like 25 mph because the rain was just pouring down. I thought I'd get off and take the longer way down to the house. This is all going down hill so the water is rushing down the road with us. Some places the water was covering the whole street. Now we're getting down to 4th Street and it's still pouring. By now the rain usually stops but not this time. By the time we got to the street my parents live on, we noticed that the street was flooded where it usually floods. These people are trying to keep the water from going into their yards and houses. They weren't prepared. The next day there was a pile of sand by the fire station for those that needed sandbags for the next rain................which hasn't come. Anyway, we got to my parents house and took my mom to Albertson's on Coors Rd just north of Montano. That's not too far from home and the rain hadn't gotten to that part of the city. So we were safe. There was a McDonald's across the street and my niece asked if we could get something there. Sure, so after we did the shopping we were going over there. Well, by the time we were done with shopping it was pouring outside. I told my mom and niece to wait till I bring the car around. By the time I got to my car I was just soaked. I got them and we headed to McDonald's as my niece said she was STARVING!!! "Drive-thru" she said. So I did. What a time I had. Just getting wet again with that window cracked to place the order. After placing the order I drove to pay for it. I couldn't figure how so much water got into the car. I paid for the food, drove up to the next window to pick up the food. That's when I discovered how I got water in the car. My windshield wipers was on intermittent and each time it went up, the water came pouring in. I hurried and turned the wipers off so I don't get any more water in the car. Now we had our food and on our way back to my parents house. The rain had started to let up and as we drove up Montano I realized that we didn't have to get the food at that McDonald's. We had another one there on 4th Street!!! I am sure my niece wouldn't have starved to death if she could have waited to go to that store. It was already done with. We had to laugh at what we did.

6 months!!

It's been way too long since I last posted anything. I guess I just don't have enough time in a day. Or not enough time on the computer. I think I am just working way too long in the day. I should slow down and work half days or something. Maybe go out and try to win the lottery!!! Ha ha, what a waste of money though. It's funny though, to watch people go out to buy the lottery tickets when it gets to a certain amount. To me, I don't see much winners from this area so the odds of winning isn't that great. It's always those Easterners that win (I believe that's east of the Mississippi or is it east of NM stateline???) Anyway, I'm not so lucky in winning the big things. I win the small things like CDs, baseball tickets, concert tickets, things like that.

So what's happened for the past 6 months? With my memory, it's would be a miracle to remember all the good things, fun things but I can't. I guess as I try to continue to write I might remember some things.
For one, my niece, Juella got a new kitty. He's a monster, though. I will have to get some pics up of him. He loves to bite and scratch. Especially if you are a guy!!!! I think he gets jealous when Juella's male friends come over for a visit!! It's pretty funny watching them get away from him. His name is Jimmy. He's all white, short hair and a monster. He loves to drag around stuffed animals, doesn't matter the size either. He's funny trying to drag the big ones around. He just goes and grabs something off of Juella's shelf. He loves to play with crumbled up paper. He can play for hours with that. The cat at my work is the first cat I saw do that. Now I hear another person's cat does that, too.
For the past week or so, we haven't had any missionaries in our ward!!!! I didn't know that. Now I know why their lights were on all night long for two nights in a row. Their van was parked in the same spot for three days. I didn't ask where they were, went, just that they weren't around here for almost a week. They both left this morning, headed out to another area. So we have two new Elders but I haven't seen them yet. I live right next to them. I don't know how that happened. Well, I do but it's weird how it happened. I was living in another apartment but that was just too stinky. I didn't like the smell of cigarettes always being in the apartment. Finally the manager came over and she said it was like I was the one smoking. After that they found another apartment for me and I ended up right next to the missionaries and the next building is where my sister and niece live.
More stories to come. It's getting late and I need some rest.............

Fun game

So the rules are as follows:

1. Add a comment on this blog with one memory that you and I share, it doesn't matter what it is or how well we know each other, just anything that you remember.

2. Re- Post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.
