Firemen!

Ok, one day while I was driving (I had just left from my parents house) I had turned east onto Griegos Rd. There wasn't any traffic and then all of a sudden there's this fire truck right behind me. This was just before getting to 12th Street. There's not much space between Grande Dr. and 12th Street, so how they got right behind me that fast, I won't ever figure that out. Anyway, I'm driving the speed limit (30 mph) and they're on my bumper. I thought that they won't be there for long as the fire station was just up the road (right before you get to 4th Street). As I kept looking back at the truck it said Engine 1. Well, the fire station coming up is #6. Oh no, these guys aren't going to turn there. I was right. They stayed on me and were turning north onto 4th St. as I was! So I thought as soon as I turn I will lose them as their truck will probably go slow at first. WRONG! They stayed on the inside lane for awhile but got right behind me as we approached Montano. I was heading East on Montano and they were too!! My destination was the Shell station up on Montano just before getting to I-25. That was the lowest price for gasoline. And I'm already driving on fumes. Yeah, I usually do that. Wait till the tank is empty before realizing I need to get gas in the car. Anyway, I'm driving up Montano and decide to stay in the far right lane and they did the same thing! Then I got to thinking that they're following me to make sure I make it to the Shell station! Then I thought about a friend who was crazy about firemen. She just drools over them. I had taken this picture of these firemen in Springfield, MO on one of my trips to Nashville. I thought about taking a picture of these guys and show it to her. I take my camera every where I go. Then I realized I had no way to take a picture of them if they're right there on my bumper. Anyway, we got up to Renaissance St., had to wait for the light. I got in the turning lane for a right turn. They were still in the other lane as they couldn't get in the turning lane. I thought they'd go on, like onto the freeway. But no! They followed me into the parking lot. There's the Shell station on the right side of Renaissance and a McDonald's on the left side. That's the end of the road. I guess they didn't know where they were going. Maybe I confused them and they thought we were getting on the freeway!! I don't know. Then I thought they were going to eat lunch at McDonalds but instead they turned the truck around, had quite a time in doing that. I was at the first pump there and watching them. As they got going I waved at them. They just looked at me. Probably wondering who I was and why I waved. Maybe they thought I was someone they knew. You know there are lots of blue cars around and they thought I was someone they knew. I thought they were my knights-in-shining-aromur. And they just turned around and headed back west on Montano!
