Not enough time to share more. This is one I caught one day while on my walk around town. Thought I'd share it with you.
Boo Boo
The day after I almost got hit by a car, I was riding the bus, probably going to the library. Anyway, I got on #36 and headed out. My original plan was to go all the way to the Alvarado Transit Center and get the 777 but changed my mind and got the 766 at Rio Grande and Central. It didn't matter which one I took as I would end up at the place I wanted to go. So I got on the 766 and figured I'd have less waiting time in between buses (transferring to another). Well, all was well until we pulled up to the Alvarado Transit Center. Just as 766 was pulling in front of 66 bus, that bus decided to pull out and they hit each other! I saw the mirror of the 66 bus smash into the 766. Just as people were getting onto the 766 something happened on Central and First Street, which was just in front of us. Someone said someone got hit by a car. When I looked out I saw that these two men were in the street wanting to fight each other. I could see people running from all directions over to where they were. After we were settled on the bus the bus driver said we had to get out since they had that accident. So all of us got off and had to find other ways to go where we wanted to. The same for the 66 bus. It was pretty chaotic. Now I had to figure out which bus to take to get me where I wanted as soon as possible. I saw that the 777 was my best bet. So I went back outside and the supervisor for the buses was out there checking out the buses and told the 766 driver that he can go and to try to get to Uptown Transit Center as soon as possible. Two guys got on and then I thought I better go and try to get my connection at the UTC. So after we got to UTC I took this picture of the scratch mark from the mirror of the 66 bus.
BTW, it was just 3 of us on the Rapid Ride till we got to the UNM stop. I hadn't seen the bus that empty! This was a huge bus!

Pretty Lucky
I am one lucky person. I was almost dead the other day or evening. I blame it all on the #8 bus because it was 8 minutes early and I missed it. Didn't even stop to wait a few minutes like they usually do when they are early. Had to be a man driving because the ladies are pretty good drivers and don't rush to their destinations. Anyway, had to wait for the next bus and that meant I had to cross the busy Louisiana Blvd right by the mall. Being that school was starting in a day or two, people were at the mall shopping. Anyway, this lady and I got off the bus and she was going to get the #157 like I was. We pushed the button to give us the green light to cross. You have to push the walk button or you won't have time to get across the street. I've seen people do that. Well, here we are walking across the street and I hear this car coming and it didn't seem like it was going to stop. So as I was looking up to see if we still had the green light, just like that, I saw this red thing to my right and then I heard someone scream out STOP! and I also heard tires screeching. I looked up and saw this lady driving a red Jeep and she had swerved and turned into the driveway but heading in the wrong direction. Good thing no one was exiting out. I just stopped and didn't move. This man got out of his car and yelled to see if we were all right. The lady with me was behind me and she asked if I was ok. I said Yes, just shaken up. The man said this other car went after the Jeep but that man came back and said he lost it. I told them a lady was driving the Jeep. We're all thinking she was talking on her phone, texting,and/or in trouble with the law. The one man said that she should have stopped to make sure we were ok. She did give us a big scare. You know how people say that their life flashes before them when something like this happens? Well, it didn't happen to me. So it's a sign that I wasn't ready to leave this earth. And then the next day the bus I was on hit another bus!! I was on the #766 (Rapid Ride) and we were coming into the Alvarado stop which they stop on First Street instead of inside the Alvarado Transit Center. And the #66 stops on First Street. The 66 bus was leaving and didn't see the 766 coming up along side of it and hit our bus or ours his the 66. Our bus driver pulled into his spot, people got off, and other people got on. Just at that time a man got hit by a car at the intersection of Central and First Street. But he wasn't hurt at all, so it was more of a car was turning and didn't stop for pedestrians. This guy that got hit went after the driver and they just about had it out on the street. People were running in all directions and stopped the fight. It was pretty funny now that I think about it. Grown men fighting, in the street! So now we had to get off the bus because of the accident. What a day.
